Strabismus, turned eyes or squints can affect children and adults. In adults, these can cause double vision, which is a significant impairment.
Surgery for squints is a highly specialised branch of Ophthalmology, and in adults, can be done with adjustable sutures, to allow for early post operative manipulation for an optimal outcome.
Dr Kini is involved in training the Ocular Motility Fellow in squint surgery at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital.
